OUR TAI CHI TRAINING
Tai Chi programs that are focused on health are suitable for almost everyone. According to the Harvard Medical School Tai Chi “movements are usually circular and never forced, the muscles are relaxed rather than tensed, the joints are not fully extended or bent, and connective tissues are not stretched. Tai Chi can be easily adapted for anyone, from the most fit to people confined to wheelchairs or recovering from surgery.” - Harvard Health Publishing
BALANCE & BREATHE
Tai Chi Balance & Breathe is a Sun-style program that helps to improve balance, both mentally and physically.
TAI CHI 7/24
Tai Chi 7/24 is focused on the first seven movements of the popular 24-Posture Simplified Form.
DROP-IN
Rather than focusing on a sequence of movements, drop-in Tai Chi classes focus on one specific movement.
REST & RECOVERY
Rest & Recovery is our most gentle program. It is specifically designed to give space for rehabilitation.
KEY BENEFITS OF TAI CHI TRAINING
Stepping with mindful weight transference is a key aspect of every class.
Learning weight transference has been shown to improve balance and prevent falls.
Moving more has been shown to improve joint health and reduce pain.
Tai Chi practice can be similar in activity-level to taking a brisk walk.
Learning new movements and memorizing a sequential pattern can sharpen the mind.
To get started all you need are comfortable clothes and clean, well fitted sneakers.
